BUDAPESSIMISM Lingering on a dusty overpass (I) couldn’t distinguish the sky from all the dirt Seeing another plane flying over, alas: It left me behind, like all the others did. Horrifying, bleak uncertainty Makes me ache and anxious to sleep at night. I’d rather stay, but I’m afraid my sanity Would leave without me – with nobody left in sight. Refr: The swamp-grey sky  Would drag me under From concrete’s cold  Into ill-drawn wonders Distant cities lure with hazy eyes Bored and forlorn I respond to different lies Mediocrity always finds its way Near and far there’s no peace worth to stay. Refr: The swamp-grey sky  would drag me under From concrete’s cold  into ill-drawn wonders. Refr.2.: Below well-known skies I stop to wonder Since all that’s been told Is out in the yonder.

Drought 04:53
DROUGHT Verse 1: Dazed all day. I sense that my clear thougts decompose. Strength of mind vanishes. Truth no longer quenches my thirst. reprise:  Haze blinds my sight (and) banishes all bold moves I ventured at first. Verse 2: Pour a glass of liquid gold feel caressing warmth! Boisterous joy is sold, sordid  fate’s foretold. Verse 3: Raise a glass - your sick and old - to long-faded charms! You’re oblivious to the cold There’s nothing left to hold.  refr. 2 Far too late I realized I have succumbed to my own greed Scapegoats follow my spineless lead down a gloomy path.

Yoke 03:38
YOKE 1. / We start our day with little white lies for a last moment of irresponsibility before we go on to idolize our instant gods of deception. 2. / the only yoke I have to endure  is my apathy due to freedom of choice Once I had plans but now I'm unsure thank god for all the distraction! 3. /  Killing time logged off from reality I bid farewell to dreams and inspiration -  traded for predictability and superficial sensation. Refr.: Easily amused I browse an uneventful history procrastinating further Until I'm out of excuses. reprise: No more excuses.

Voiceless 05:54
VOICELESS Far above our accustomed trails of denial and out of sight As blinded pawns we follow a vile way of lies into cold black night I want to feel some sanity to be able to see I recall we were more than hollow shells in the time of seeking minds. I start to see what our questions should be, Whom I must ask I need to seek Words worthless - speeches dumb The herd dies living voiceless and numb But a few are about to awake now from dreamless sleep with the tide they'll come. I start to see what our questions should be, Whom I must ask I need to seek Words worthless - speeches dumb The herd dies living voiceless and numb. (Neil Gaiman) I pledge to obey no man nor faith, I'll leave my past and doubts behind I step outside the maze and think - reclaiming my subjected mind.

about

4 songs about the urge to disappear, to drink, to self-destruct, to procrastinate and the thought that there might be a way out.
